Zero Conditional - Office Rules and Policies
Fill the gaps
Use the present simple in both clauses. If something is always true, the zero conditional is your tool.
Speaking model
Discussion: "If a deadline is missed, we hold an emergency review meeting the next morning."
Use present simple in both halves. Example answers: arrive / starts, crashes / receives, submit / delays.

First Conditional - Plans and Deadlines
Fill the gaps
For real future possibilities: If + present simple, will + base verb.
Speaking model
Discussion: "If my manager gives me an urgent task before I finish, I will write a quick plan and finish the easy parts first."
Accepted: finish / will review (or reviews), doesn't attend / will lose, delivers / will start.

Second Conditional - Hypothetical Scenarios
Fill the gaps
For unreal or imaginary situations: If + past simple, would + base verb.
Speaking model
Discussion: "If I received a million dollar investment, the first thing I would change is our onboarding process."
Note: "were" is the standard form after "I" in hypothetical clauses. Accepted: were / would allow, had / would launch, had / would / join.

Third Conditional - Past Reflections
Fill the gaps
For things that did not happen: If + past perfect, would have + past participle.
Speaking model
Discussion: "If I had prepared better for that exam, I would have felt more confident on the day."
Accepted: had tested / wouldn't have experienced, had backed up / wouldn't have panicked, had prepared / would have signed.

Mixed Conditional 1 - Past Action, Present Result
Fill the gaps
Past cause, present result: If + past perfect, would + base verb.
Speaking model
Discussion: "If I had taken that traineeship, I would be leading a team today." Keep the past time marker (last year, five years ago) separate from the present result marker (now, today).
